The Casting Associate will assist the Creative Director in identifying, auditioning, and selecting real-life people for various video projects. You will play a key role in ensuring we find the right talent who align with Cut’s mission of creativity, understanding, and truth. This role requires a deep understanding of people, and a passion for representing authentic, real-world experiences on screen.Key Responsibilities:
Assisting with Auditions: Help organize and facilitate remote auditions
Talent Scouting: Actively search for real-life individuals who fit specific roles by using online platforms, outreach, and in-person scouting. You’ll find unique, everyday people whose stories are impactful and relevant.
Reviewing Auditions: Review audition tapes, and provide valuable input to help narrow down the best candidates.
Selection Process: Collaborate with the Creative Director to make final talent selections for each project based on fit, chemistry, and diversity of representation.
Talent Liaison: Act as a point of contact for talent, ensuring they are informed, comfortable, and prepared throughout the casting and production process.
Diversity and Inclusion: Champion diversity in all casting choices, ensuring that Cut’s casts are reflective of a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
Project Management: Juggle multiple casting projects at once, meeting tight deadlines and maintaining organized tracking of each session.
Problem-Solving: Navigate casting challenges with creative solutions, ensuring that projects stay on schedule and deliver excellent results.
Qualifications:
A passion for people and storytelling.
2+ years of experience in casting, talent management, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of diverse communities and networks.
Familiarity with video production and online content creation.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in editing audition reels is a plus.
